The Educational Exhibition and Job Fair, ‘EDEX Expo 2025’ will be held at the BMICH from January 17-19.

It will be opened by British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andrew Patrick.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm.

Organised by the Royal College Union this event brings together opportunities in higher education, career development, training and entrepreneurship to assist Sri Lankan youth in their educational endeavours.

A large number of visitors including students from public, private and International schools and from universities are expected at the Exhibition and job fair.

EDEX, Chairman Mahinda Galagedara thanking the media for the support extended towards the annual event said EDEX Expo serves as a springboard for students, professionals and job seekers alike.

Responding to a question as to why private universities in Sri Lanka charge amounts ranging from Rs. 20 to Rs. 30 lakhs or more for educational courses, as such a situation hampers the education of a large number of low income students in the country, university representatives highlighted that they offer full or discounted scholarships to students considering their results and easy payment schemes as well to settle course fees in installments.

Some universities said the balance payments could also be made after gaining employment.

Over 100 local and global universities and 20 job fair stalls represent this year’s event and conduct on- site interviews and make immediate recruitment opportunities.

A number of reputed educational institutes from Canada and Indonesia, New Zealand, China, the UK, US and Australia will participate at the exhibition.

Sri Lanka’s leading career professionals will also conduct seminars, psychometric tests and one-on-one counselling sessions on career guidance and how students should face interviews.
