All non-graduate Government school teachers who wish to qualify as trained teachers should sit for the Government Teachers’ College Final Examination – 2025 in May.
The Department of Examinations in a circular has called upon school teachers who wish to sit for the examination to apply between January 9 and 24 online.
Details and application forms of the examination can be obtained from the official website of the Examinations Department: doenets.lk or onlineexams.govt.lk/eic. Applications should be sent to the Department of Examinations via these websites.
Senior Director of Education, Kurunegala, W. M. Balasooriya told the Sunday Observer yesterday that the Ministry of Education will facilitate all untrained teachers to become qualified trained teachers this year as untrained teachers would not be permitted to teach in schools in the future. Eight-thousand more teachers will qualify as trained teachers under this program and the Ministry of Education has decided to recruit nearly 12,000 graduate teachers by conducting a competitive examination this year to fill the vacancies in national and Provincial schools countrywide, he added.
