A high-level roundtable discussion on the India–Sri Lanka partnership was held in Colombo on Friday. It was organised by the High Commission of India.
This was the first of its kind in the country and brought together experts, policymakers, and thought leaders to discuss ways to strengthen ties between the two countries.
The discussion covered various topics, including the geopolitical context of bilateral relations, political ties, security cooperation, and cultural links. It also explored future plans to improve physical and energy connectivity, digital integration, trade and investment, and strategies for sustainable development without relying on debt. Representatives from Sri Lankan think tanks, opinion leaders, and officials from the High Commission were also present.
