The league stage after 30 matches, in the ongoing MCA ‘D’ Division 40-over League Tournament for the Munchee Trophy sponsored for the fourth time by Ceylon Biscuits came to a conclusion on Wednesday.
The tournament was contested by 15 teams pooled into three groups.
Colombo Dockyard and Peoples Leasing PLC from Group ‘A’; HNB Finance, Power Hand Plantations and Abans Group from Group ‘B’ and Teejay Lanka, Central Finance and Seylan Bank from Group ‘C’ advanced to the knock-out stage after the first round.
The quarter-finals will be worked off as follows:
December 12: Teejay Lanka versus Seylan Bank at the MCA ground and Colombo Dockyard versus Power Hand Plantations at St. Joseph’s College ground, Darley Road.
December 13: Peoples Leasing PLC versus Central Finance at the MCA ground, HNB Finance versus Abans Group at Colombo Campus ground.
The semi-finals will be played on January 19 at MCA and Thurstan and the final on January 25 at MCA.
