Dialog Axiata PLC supported the annual Kelani Duruthu Maha Perahera for the eighth consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage through contributions to significant religious and traditional events.
The Kelani Duruthu Maha Perahera, held from January 10-12, is Sri Lanka’s grandest low-country cultural pageant, commemorating the Buddha’s third historic visit to the island.
Dialog’s sponsorship reflects its dedication to safeguarding the nation’s traditions and supporting prominent cultural events across the country.
Dialog has also been a long-term patron of many significant events, including the Kandy Esala Perahara, Nawam Maha Perahara at Gangaramaya, Baudhaloka Vesak Kalapaya, Sri Buddha Rashmi Vesak Kalapaya, Katharagama Esala Perahara, and Gatabaru Esala Perahara.
These efforts align with the company’s initiatives to preserve Sri Lanka’s heritage, including constructing the vestibule for the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya, launching a website and directory of Amarapura Maha Nikaya Temples, and restoring the Anuradhapura Maha Vihara Sannipatha Shalawa.
