The Graduate Institute of Science and Management (GISM) celebrated their 14th Anniversary on 11thJanuary at Hilton, Colombo with invited delegates from both academia and industry. The Award Ceremony 2024 for Passing out of the students of GISM was taken place with the presence of a world-class panel of Professors and invited delegates.
In this event, the chief guest Mr David Pine, His Excellency New Zealand High Commissioner to Sri Lanka emphasised that, with the support of GISM and Massey University, students will find themselves well-equipped with both academic knowledge, and technical and soft skills, that will help to go out into the world and contribute for the social, cultural and economic development of Sri Lanka, New Zealand and wider global stage.

GISM established in August 2010 as a nucleus of University Education is developing fast from its simple beginning to become a worldwide Education system. That is envisaged by introducing new course programmes in undergraduate and postgraduate levels in collaboration with foreign prestigious Universities.Addressing the gathering Massey University representative Puja Malik said “GISM is the friendliest partner who offers pathway programmes since 2010 and the students who come to Massey from Sri Lanka are doing very well. There are two Students associations in Albany and Palmerston North campuses, and they help new students a lotwhen they first come to New Zealand.” Representatives from these Massey University Sri Lankan Students’ Associations Thavishi Amanda and Vihangi Jayakody also addressed the gathering.

GISM is the only Massey University affiliated Education and Research partner in Sri Lanka whois authorised to send students to New Zealand after completing their first year or, both first and second years of enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate pathway programmes. GISM President emphasises that the key goal of his institute is to provide knowledge and necessary training for studying the subsequent year in New Zealand. * 10 majors under Bachelor of Business which include Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, International Business and Organizational Technology Management.
* 05 majors under Bachelor of Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology and Data Science.
* Bachelor of Science, including majors in Microbiology, Molecular Cell Biology and Ecology and Conservation.
* Bachelor of Engineering, including Mechatronics Engineering and Electronics and Computer Engineering.
* Bachelor of Construction in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
* Bachelor of Agribusiness
Masters’ pathway programmes:
* Master of Science (Biosciences)
* Master of Construction in Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Construction Law.
* Master of Management with three major selections
* Master of Information science

Who will benefit?
For Bachelors pathway, students with G.C.E. A/L can join pending results. Those who have good results in O/L also can join through GISM Foundation programme. For Postgraduate pathway, applicants need a degree from a recognised University or equivalent qualifications.
