DR. DISAMPATHY SUBESINGHE – Retired Consultant Paediatrician (UK),​ member of the Royal College,​ Colombo 1949 group. Dearly beloved husband of the late Dr. Srima Subesinghe; devoted father of Samitha and Amali,​ loving father-in-law of Nina and Iain; adoring grandfather of Zain and Arran (all UK); affectionate brother of the late Thiami Ambanpola and Dr. Nyanissara Subesinghe (UK),​ loving brother-in-law of K.B. Ambanpola and Dr. Kusum Subesinghe,​ and the late Dr. Hector Jayasinha,​ the late Dr Esme Fernando,​ the late Clarice Subasinghe,​ the late Seela Subasinghe and Dora De Silva (Canada); friend,​ benefactor and confidante to many; passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Funeral on Monday 20th January 2025; viewing from 11 a.m. at “The Restpect Home” by Jayaratne’s; cremation at General Cemetery,​ Kanatte (new crematorium) at 4.30 p.m. No flowers by request. Pushpam was the beloved wife of Thilla Kirubaithilakan,​ loving mother of John and Peter,​ the daughter of late Rose Darley Arulmalar Gnanadurai nee Welch and late Alfred Victor Gnanadurai,​ sister of late Samuel,​ Victor and late Richard,​ sister-in-law of late Thanga,​ Arul,​ late Karunai,​ late Joy,​ Vijitha,​ Jebaranjini and Vanuja. The funeral service will be held on 23 January 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Canberra City Uniting Church.
