Negombo beach will be a hive of activity from January 31 to February 2 when the Sunquick National Beach Volleyball Championship will be held.
The Nationals will be conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) and Air Force men and women are the defending champions. The tournament will be held in the Open event for men and women while the boys and girls will have to contest in the under-18 and under-21 age categories.
Depending on their performances the SLBF will take steps to establish junior and senior national beach volleyball pools targeting international beach volleyball tournaments.
Entries for the tournament will close on January 25. All entries should reach the Tournament Secretary, National Beach Volleyball Tournament, SLVF No 33, Torrington Place, Colombo 7. (TBR)
