Limit screen time
TV screens, laptops and mobile phones are fun and sometimes we can’t get enough of the entertainment they provide for us. We can spend a lot of time looking at cartoons, YouTube videos and programs that are fun and entertaining but anything done too much is bad for your health and staring at screens all the time is a very bad habit.
Staring at a phone while eating or while in bed can be damaging to your health. It is important to limit screen time to a few hours of the day; this could be an hour or so after playtime, home work or dinner.
Looking at a screen all the time can very badly damage your young eyes and looking at it before going to sleep can seriously affect you from having a good night’s rest.

Drink more liquids
Do you know your body is made up of 60-75% water? That means our bodies need water to do the many wonderful things it does. Water helps to maintain your temperature, digest your food, carries nutrients and oxygen to your cells, keeps your skin smooth, eyes bright, helps to keep our joints moving and removes bad toxins from your body.
So it is important to drink at least eight glasses of water each day, because we lose water from sweating, playing and even just breathing. You don’t have to drink plain old boring water either, you give your body the water you need just by eating plenty of fruits and vegetables like papaw, mangoes, watermelons, tomatoes and cucumbers. You can also make and drink fun smoothies, yummy soups, milk- shakes and refreshing fruit drinks to keep your body hydrated and happy.

Stay active
Staying active is important as children as it helps us to grow strong and makes us healthy and happy. Doing a sport in school like swimming, basketball or football can be a good way to be active. You can also find other fun ways to be active in and around house instead of watching TV or playing on the phone. Put on some lively music and have a dance party, it’s a fun way to get some exercise and have a great time. Have an obstacle course – set up a simple obstacle course using cushions, chairs and other furniture.
You will love crawling, jumping and climbing through it. Set up play dates with your friends so you can do fun activities like running, playing tag, riding bikes, playing hide and seek or you can use a big balloon for a fun and safe game of volleyball. Yoga and stretching is not just for grown-ups, you can also do some fun and simple animal poses with your parents and friends.
