Australia look set to earn an early victory in their second Test match against Sri Lanka being played at the Galle International Stadium yesterday.
Continuing from their overnight total of 330 for 3 wickets finished their first innings on 414 all out with Prabath Jayasuriya running through the lower order finishing with five wickets for 151 runs.
Australia were able to boost their total with the help of two centurions by Steven Smith scoring 131 runs and Alex Carey scoring 156 runs.
In their second innings Sri Lanka once again did not get a good start.
Dimuth Karunaratne scored only 14 runs but Angelo Mathews batted soundly to score 76 runs inclusive of a six and four boundaries.
Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva put on 37 runs for the fifth wicket and Kusal Mendis joined Mathews to put on 70 runs for the sixth wicket to take their total to some respectability.
