The Jam Fruit Tree Publications is proud to announce the launch of The Jam Fruit Tree Anthologies, a literary endeavour set to celebrate the finest voices in short stories and poetry from Sri Lanka citizens and residents.
In collaboration with the Observer MUSE magazine, this initiative invites writers to contribute to two major anthologies: The Jam Fruit Tree Anthology of Best Short Stories 2025 and The Jam Fruit Tree Anthology of Best Poetry 2025. These anthologies will showcase the best works in short fiction and poetry, offering a platform for both established and emerging writers to submit their unique and inspiring work for a chance to be featured in two exciting upcoming volumes.
Standing by their slogan, “Empowering writers, inspiring readers”, The Jam Fruit Tree Publications (JFT) is committed to a constant search of opportunities to promote and uplift authors, reflecting their dedication to enhancing the literary community. They recognise the significance of providing a platform for diverse voices and stories, ensuring that writers from all backgrounds are given a chance to be heard.
Diverse voices
JFT actively explores innovative avenues, through collaborations, literary events, or unique publishing initiatives, all aimed at showcasing diverse voices. Therefore, The Jam Fruit Tree anthologies is an approach which not only helps writers and poets to gain a chance for visibility but also to foster an environment where the literary community can thrive.
By continuously searching for ways to support writers, The Jam Fruit Tree Publications plays a crucial role in nurturing talent and enriching the literary landscape, creating room for every story to be seen and resonate with the readers.
Likewise, the Jam Fruit Tree Poetry and Short Story anthologies are exciting opportunities for any aspiring writer or poet who are either a Sri Lankan citizen or resident, aged 12 and above. From the entries received, the two anthologies will showcase the best 50 short stories and the best 100 poems, permitting talented people to gain recognition for their work alongside the chance to get their writing published in the two volumes.
