People’s Bank joins GovPay via People’s Pay

People’s Bank joined the seamless integration of its People’s Pay Digital Wallet App with ‘GovPay,’ Sri Lanka’s groundbreaking digital payment platform. This initiative, spearheaded by the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and Lanka Pay, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, is set to revolutionise transactions with Government institutions, fostering a digitally inclusive nation, a press release stated.

GovPay is designed to modernise and streamline financial transactions with Government entities, enabling secure, efficient, and seamless payments. Initially, the platform integrated with 16 key Government institutions, significantly improving the ease of conducting official transactions it added and further said through this strategic collaboration, People’s Bank aims to strengthen its digital banking ecosystem, making financial services more accessible and inclusive for individuals and businesses alike.

The integration of GovPay into the People’s Pay Digital Wallet App provides customers with a fast, secure, and hassle-free payment solution for a variety of government services. With this enhancement, users can now complete their transactions anytime and anywhere, reducing reliance on physical banking facilities and promoting a more connected financial landscape.

Developed as part of efforts to promote cashless transactions in Sri Lanka, the People’s Pay Digital Wallet App offers a world-class mobile banking solution tailored to meet the needs of a rapidly growing digital customer base. Designed with an intuitive interface and lifestyle-enhancing features, the app caters to all those who look to manage their finances with ease.

People’s Pay offers trilingual accessibility in English, Sinhala, and Tamil, ensuring greater reach and usability across urban and rural communities. The app is available to both People’s Bank and non-People’s Bank customers, providing them with complete control over their bank accounts. Users can view their People’s Bank accounts and credit card details, make credit card payments to any bank, and transfer funds seamlessly across banks in Sri Lanka.

The app also supports mobile reloads, bill payments, and QR code transactions.Further enhancing its digital capabilities, People’s Pay enables users to open an account remotely via video call, eliminating the need for physical visits. To add even more value, the app now offers an online CRIB report-obtaining facility, making it easier for users to access their credit information anytime, anywhere.Security remains a top priority, with advanced authentication features such as Face ID and Touch ID login, the release further stated.
