TVS Lanka makes its range of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds with domestic value addition.
Since the commissioning of its state-of-the-art vehicle assembly facility in 2021, TVS Lanka has focused on enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities. The facility was set up with an investment of over half a billion rupees and is staffed by managers and technicians trained in India, ensuring global expertise in local production.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Industries’ Domestic Value Addition program, setting new benchmarks in quality and innovation.
Chief Executive Officer of TVS Lanka, Geethal Anthony said, “We think this endeavour is particularly timely to manage the rupee depreciation. We are committed in developing the component manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka and glad to state that based on the investments made by TVS we have developed a total ecosystem of component manufactures who was exposed to overseas training and now recognised with OE status.”
TVS Lanka’s operations generate employment opportunities for youth and skilled professionals, supporting local businesses and SMEs involved in the supply chain. Its contributions have gained international recognition, and the company remains steadfast in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to Sri Lanka’s evolving transportation needs in collaboration with TVS India.
