Thurstan have slight edge

Thurstan College have made a firm reply by scoring 208 for four wickets in reply to 304 scored by Isipathana College at the close on day two in the semi-final of the Under-19 division One Tier B schools cricket tournament being played at MRICS Sooriyawewa yesterday.

Sent in to bat first, Isipathana scored 304 runs in their first innings. Ranmith Senarath and Maleesha Sandaruwan put on a partnership of 120 runs for the second wicket.

Ranmith Senarath scored 156 runs off 253 deliveries with 15 boundaries and 2 sixes. Yovun Silpa claimed 4 wickets for 46 runs.

Tanuja Rajapakse scored 101 runs off 178 deliveries with 8 boundaries and a six for Thurstan. Vihas Thewmika scored 56 runs off 126 deliveries with 3 boundaries and a six.

Match will resume today.
