The Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) will be conducting two Open Swimming Championships today (23) at the Beach Park, Port City in Colombo.
The first one is the 14th Annual 5 km Open Swimming Championships scheduled to start at 7.30 a.m. and will be a free style event. It is open to all swimmers above the age of 14 years as at 31 December 2025. Each club/school should also produce a Team Entry Form with a list of names and the registered number of swimmers.
Separate lists should be used for men and women.
The race shall finish within 30 minutes of the finish time of the first swimmer.
Medals will be presented to the first three places. Certificates will be presented to all participants completing the swim within the official time. A small token/medal will be presented to all participants who complete the race.
The second race in the First Annual 1km and 3 km swimming championship today at the same venue.
The 1km competition will be open to all competitors who are 12-13 years of age as at 31st December 2025 and 3km will be open to all competitors who are 14-15 years of age as at 31st December 2025.
The proposed start time is 9:30am. However, the time may be subject to change with adequate notice. Details of the course, etc shall be provided at a briefing after the close of entries.
