I live in a small, beautiful village, surrounded by mountains in the Central Province called Gampola. It is full of greenery. It has the longest river in Sri Lanka, the Mahaweli River. It is flowing around our little village. I also plant flowers in my garden to make my village beautiful. There are colourful birds visiting my garden from time to time. Therefore, we can hear the lovely chirping noise of birds.
We have a lot of facilities in our village, like a very good hospital, schools, and religious places like temples, kovils, mosque and churches. It has a shopping mall and complex. In our village, all nationalities live in peace and harmony.
We celebrate all festivals together. We do shramadana to keep our village clean and tidy. The people in our village are very kind and helpful. Many of them are doing business. Women in our village do home-based businesses like cultivating, online business, batik, and planting ornamental plants and selling them.
There is a Sunday fair where they sell varieties of things to buy. I am proud of my village and the hardworking people. I live in the best village in Sri Lanka.
