Old boys of Royal and S. Thomas’ will get together to battle it out in a golf match to be played on March 16 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) course for the FC de Saram Challenge Trophy.
This encounter began in 1970, with a few breaks in between for unavoidable reasons, stands as a true celebration of camaraderie, competition and has shared traditions of the two prestigious institutions.
This year’s encounter is the 55th edition promises to be nothing short of spectacular, as top golfers from both sides prepare to battle it out for glory. There will be about 120 players of old boys with a passion for golf for this anticipated and celebrated golfing event drawing both seasoned veterans and emerging talents from the alumni networks of both schools.
Royal College team will be led by Vijitha Perera while the Thomian team will be captained by Deannath Kulatunga who are set to contest showcasing the spirit of friendly contest. The result does not play any significance as it just showcases the Royal-Thomian spirit.
