St. Joseph Vaz emerge champions

St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa emerged champions of the Under 19 division Two Tier A schools cricket tournament when they beat Sri Dharmaloka College Kelaniya on the first innings played at the Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala and concluded on Friday (28). Both schools will be promoted to division one tier ‘B’ from next season. Electing to field first, Joseph Vaz bowler Himal Ravihansa claimed 6 wickets for 56 runs to see Sri Dharmaloka being bowled out for 167 runs.

In their reply Joseph Vaz scored 237 runs with Savio Fernandes top scoring with 99 runs.

Sri Dharmaloka bowler Themira Mikashana captured 6 wickets for 61 runs.
