MCA ‘F’ division sponsored by Fairfirst Insurance

Fairfirst Insurance Limited has come forward to sponsor the MCA ‘F’ division 25-overs League cricket tournament and contested for the Fairfirst Insurance Trophy for the 7th consecutive year.

The tournament has attracted 25 teams, which are pooled into four groups as follows.

Group ‘A’ (6 teams): Unilever SL, EB Creasy, HNB ‘B’, Union Bank, Empire Tea and Seylan Bank ‘B’.

Group ‘B’ (7 teams): David Pieris Group ‘B’, Cargills Bank, Commercial Bank of Ceylon ‘B’, Camera LK, VS Information Systems, Std. Chartered Bank and Ansell Lanka.

Group ‘C’ (5 teams): Ranpath Group, Sitrex Group, Astron Limited, Siam Cement and English Tea Shop.

Group ‘D’ (7 teams): Softlogic Life Insurance, MAS Active, Atire (Pvt) Ltd., Pizza Hut, Ansell Textile, Dialog Axiata and Emerchemie NB.

The tournament will be conducted in two stages; the ‘league’ stage, consisting 67 half day matches and the ‘knock-out’ stage, consisting 15 matches and the final.

The league stage commenced on February 25 will conclude on March 30.

The ‘Knock-out’ stage, the pre-quarter-finals on April 5 and 6, the quarter-finals on April 19 and 20, the semi-finals on April 26 and 27 and the final on May 3.

All matches are supervised by a MCA appointed Match Referees and the on field Umpires are assigned by the Association of Professional Cricket Umpires, Sri Lanka (APCUSL).

All matches up to the final will be played with the GOC League Red ball directly imported from Pakistan with the MCA Logo, supplied to the teams at cost.

Special Awards will be presented to the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Man of the Series and Man of the final.

The official sponsorship handing over ceremony together with the Media conference was held on Friday, (7) at the MCA Legends Wing.
