VISTA 2025: Arts exhibition at Kelaniya University

The Vista 2025 Exhibition of Visual Arts was held at the Art Gallery of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya from March 10 to 12.

The Vista exhibition of visual arts is organized annually by the Visual Arts Students Society (VISTA) of the Department of Fine Arts. This year’s Vista exhibition displayed over a hundred artworks, consisting of paintings and Installations created using a variety of mediums by the Visual Arts and Design students of the Department of Fine Arts.

The objective of this exhibition is to develop the Visual Arts and Design Students’ technical skills in the art-making process as well as their soft skills in displaying their work in a gallery space. This year’s Vista featured five artworks from the academic staff teaching art and design at the Department of Fine Arts, which is a novelty in this annual student art exhibition.

The event was honoured by the presence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Dr. Sudath Senarath; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Heads and academics of the departments of the Faculty of Humanities; and other distinguished guests.
