Barista’s ‘Share a Meal’ campaign has successfully raised Rs. 3,629,639.06 in 2024, continuing its mission to assist children in need at SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka. This marks the fifth consecutive year of the initiative, which has experienced consistent growth and increased community involvement.

On February 10, 2025, the funds were officially handed over to SOS officials, enabling the provision of nutritious meals and addressing the essential nutritional needs of children across Sri Lanka.

The campaign, which began in 2019 with just eight cafes and a modest donation target, has come a long way. In its first year, Barista raised Rs. 350,000, and since then, the campaign has grown exponentially. This year, the funds raised will provide nutritious meals for 770 children across six SOS Villages.

“We remain deeply committed to this cause, with year-round efforts to drive positive change and make a lasting impact on the lives of children in need,” said CEO of Barista Sri Lanka, Dilupa Pathirana,

In addition to the Share a Meal coupons, Barista also contributed 10% of its Christmas menu sales to the cause. This collective effort, fuelled by Barista customers, staff and partners, demonstrates the power of community involvement. The company is grateful to all who contributed, recognising their vital role in making this campaign a success.

Through the ‘Share a Meal’ campaign, Barista exemplifies how businesses can serve not only to generate profit but also to create meaningful societal impact. Barista’s commitment to giving back continues to demonstrate that businesses can be a force for good, empowering individuals, benefiting communities and driving positive change.

Looking ahead, Barista aims to raise Rs. 5,000,000 in 2025, with the continued dedication of its customers and community. With their help, Barista is confident it will surpass this target, ensuring continued aid for children in need across Sri Lanka, a spokesman said.
