Q: Tell us something about yourself and your family.

A: I’m Hana Mazyath Sara, a first-year Advanced Level student at the School of Excellence, Puttalam. I’m also a Taekwondo athlete at the KKT Training School, Puttalam. My family consists of four members, my mother, Faiza, who is a housewife, my sister, Rafath Aara, a medical student at DOW University of Karachi, my grandmother and me.

Q: How did you get a desire for Taekwondo?

A: My desire for Taekwondo started when I was younger and saw people practising martial arts.

I was inspired by their discipline, strength and confidence. I wanted to challenge myself and learn self-defence skills, so I decided to join the KKT Training School.

Over time, I developed a deep passion for it and have continued to train and improve.

Q: How did your Taekwondo career start?

A: My Taekwondo career started from a childhood dream of wanting to practise martial arts.

I joined the KKT Training School, where I received incredible support from my coaches and co-athletes.

My coaches guided me every step of the way, helping me sharpen my skills, while my fellow athletes constantly motivated me to do my best.

With their encouragement and consistent practice, I started competing and building confidence.

Over time, my passion for Taekwondo grew and I became more committed to my journey as an athlete.

Q: Who helps you in achieving your goals?

A: I owe my achievements to several people who have supported me along the way. First and foremost, I am grateful to the Almighty for guiding me.

My friends, well-wishers and everyone who has supported me along the way have played an integral role in helping me achieve my goals.

Q: Tell me about your performances in the field so far.

A: So far, I have participated in various competitions, including provincial and national games, inter-club tournaments, school games, the Korean Ambassador Cup and the Independent Cup.

My biggest achievement was at the Vietnam 2024 Asian Open Police Taekwondo Championship held from December 6 to 9.

I won a silver medal in the Kyorugi (Sparring) competition in the Junior-55Kg category and a bronze medal in the Poomsae competition.

These victories have been milestones in my Taekwondo journey and have motivated me to continue going forward.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: My hobbies are drawing, creating digital content, and video editing.
