Amana Bank participated in the Digital Payments Promotion Campaign 2025 in Nuwara Eliya and Hambantota recently. It was held on the theme ‘Shaping the Future through Digital Transactions’.

Organised by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) in collaboration with the District Secretariats, the Nuwara-Eliya event was held at the Lake Greogry Car Park while the Hambantota event took place at the Magam Ruhunupura Administrative Complex.

CBSL Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and senior officials of the Central Bank were present at both events.

Government officials, representatives of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and members of the public were present.

These awareness campaigns are the first in a series of initiatives by CBSL, aimed at accelerating the adoption of digital banking and payments island-wide, aligning with the broader strategy of the Government and CBSL to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth through digitalisation. During the campaign events, Amana Bank showcased its digital banking solutions, including the Your Bank online banking app, video KYC enabled Online Account Opening platform and WhatsApp Banking services while also facilitating customer registrations for its digital platforms.

The Bank also promoted the LankaQR payment mechanism, which enables cashless transactions through a fast, secure, cost-effective, and convenient payment method that allows users to make everyday payments using their mobile phones.

Amana Bank Asst. Vice President, Deposit Mobilisation and Digital Innovation Arshad Jamaldeen said, “We are honoured to support CBSL’s Digital Payments Campaigns, which resonates with our commitment to providing secure and accessible digital banking and payment solutions. This initiative reflects our drive to empower communities and contribute to a digitally inclusive Sri Lanka.”
