The Royal College Doctors’ Association (RCDA) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a health check-up camp for all current and former teachers of Royal College today at the Navarangahala premises. It’s the RCDA’s way of showing gratitude and care for the principals and teachers who dedicated their lives to teaching, a media release stated.

The Royal College Doctors’ Association (RCDA) was set up in February 1999 at the Hotel Taj Samudra, where a group of dedicated Royalist doctors gathered with a shared passion. Over the years, the presidency was passed on to Prof. Rushika Lanarolle, Prof. Prasad Katulanda, and Prof. Vajira Dissanayake, before Dr. Ajith Thennakoon took the helm in 2009, a position he holds to this day.

Today the school will be transformed into a temporary hospital, staffed by volunteer doctors who are alumni of Royal College, along with their spouses and friends. They will offer a variety of medical services to ensure that teachers receive comprehensive health assessments and consultations, the release added.
