SLIIT Leo Club completed the second phase of their community literacy initiative, Ape Pusthakalaya, on March 22, 2025, at the Nawagamuwa Dakuna S.N.S. Samithi premises.

With a mission to foster a reading culture and empower rural communities through knowledge, the Leos undertook the renovation of an old library building, giving it a fresh new look.

The initiative included repairing and repainting the structure, creating a more inviting space for readers.

The club also donated brand-new bookshelves and a collection of books covering diverse subjects to enrich the library’s resources.

This project aims to provide easy access to educational material, inspiring both children and adults to develop a habit of reading.

Volunteers worked tirelessly to transform the space into a vibrant learning hub, ensuring that the local community has a well-equipped facility for intellectual growth.

Through initiatives like this, SLIIT Leos continue their commitment to uplifting society by fostering education and knowledge-sharing, proving that books have the power to shape a better future.
