Vidyaloka College Galle emerged champions of the Under-19 division II Tier B schools cricket tournament 2024/25 by beating Kingswood College by two wickets in the final played at Saliyapura Gajaba ground recently.
Sent in to bat first Kingswood scored 227 runs in their first inning. Aadhil Sheriff scored 69 runs and Nikeshala Nanayakkara scored 56 runs.
Seniru Ninduwara claimed 4 wickets for 74 runs.
Vidyaloka replied with 191 runs in 79.3 overs. Lidula Nuwanga top scored with 81 runs.
Kavija Gamage claimed 4 wickets for 63 runs.
Kingswood scored 161 runs in their second innings. Skipper Kavija Gamage scored 57 runs and Nikeshala Nanayakkara scored 45 runs.
Chasing a target of 198 runs to win scored 200 for 8 wickets.
Nimesh Aavinda top scored with 114 runs.
Both teams will be promoted to division Two Tier A tournament from next season.
