St. Aloysius College Galle emerged champions of the Under-19 division One Tier B schools Limited Overs cricket tournament when they beat Devapathiraja College Rathgama by 8 runs according to the DLS method in the final played at Surrey ground Maggona recently.
Put in to bat first St. Aloysius scored 211 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Oshada Devinda scored an unbeaten 78 runs and Sasindu Madushan scored an unbeaten 53 runs. Pinsara Duthanga claimed three wickets for 36 runs.
When the game was stopped due to rain Devapathiraja had scored 106 for 4 wickets in 28.2 overs. This was insufficient to the 114 runs given according to the DLS method.
