With this drawn game the Trophy will remain at St. Peter’s College.

St. Peter’s just could not score too many runs in their second innings and wickets fell at short intervals early in their innings. They ended up scoring only 168 runs with the help of 53 runs scored by Nathan David and Jason Fernando who scored a disciplined 45 runs.

Maanasa Madubashana bowled best to capture early wickets and ended up with five wickets for 57 runs. Along with Nushan Perera and Yenula Dewthusa who claimed two wickets each restricted the Peterites to 168 all out.

Josephians began with some ambitions of racing to the target with their opener Aveesha Samash starting with a six in the first over. Abishek Jayaweera too was a bit aggressive but after losing two quick wickets they put the shutters down and could only slow down in their run chase. They were taking only singles with the boundaries not coming as easily as they would have liked.
