True recognitions
There’s a puzzle,
a completed picture
shimmering in the half light
of satisfaction
rectangular end
of gathering the scattered,
done!
And long after cheer
has yielded to bye and good night
the chips that fell swept away
spills wiped clean off table and floor
and the lights switched off
glowing in lime green
and turquoise blue
one piece steps out
of equation and perfection,
invisible to all
but eyes that collect
the disintegrated
and voice says,
‘a child’.

Claudius
Claudius started this week with letter C
And more adventures for us to see.
On glimmering Monday,
he cried along with a caravan of camels,
And wore the creative crown among mammals.
He crafted creative, crying creations using colourful crayons,
And cried as the corals were blown away.
On talented Tuesday, he cooked several fun, crackling meals,
He cooked croaking frogs—crunchy, creamy, and well-chewed.
He cooked some candy, with vivid hues
And prepared a juice like brandy.
On wonderful Wednesday, he carved captivating engravings,
Enchanted with entangled cascading designs
like the carvings of Embekke temple.
He worked with the persistence of a skilled engraver,
Keen, calm and carving like a skilled carver.
On thrifty Thursday, he started animal conservation,
Working sitting tight with determination.
He crafted colourful posters,
And drew pictures of endangered lobsters.
On flying Friday, he created creative crafts,
His crafted aircraft and creamy clouds,
Drifted in air like large crowds—
Creative and colourful.
On sandy Saturday, he went to the cosmos,
Studied cosmos corresponding to the Earth that flows,
Away and away from cloudy cosmos,
And the sandy cosmos drifts past the Earth.
On sunny Sunday, he clasped the cupboard from his claws,
Like a crab clasps the corals with his crooked claws.
Claudius thought he was a crab — crispy, crunchy,
And worked with the persistence of an irritating crab.
