“A crumbling squalor”

In the ensuing years after Independence, Sri Lanka was considered as a model by Singapore and many regional countries which said they wanted to have a country similar to Sri Lanka. How relevant is that story today looking at this crumbling squalor of the Wekanda Housing Scheme on Stewart Road, Slave Island?
