St. Joseph’s College were crowned champions of the U-19 Division 1 Tier ‘A’ limited overs cricket tournament 2024/25.
In the final St. Joseph’s registered a 71-run win over Trinity at Surrey ground, Maggona on Wednesday (9).
Put in to bat first, St. Joseph’s were bowled out for 204 runs in 48.4 overs. The middle-order batter Nimthaka Gunewardena top scored with 47 runs.
Malith Ratnayake was the top performer with the ball for Trinity capturing three wickets for 41 runs. In reply, Trinity could score only 133 runs as Yenula Dewthusa and Maanasa Madubashana ripped through their batting lineup, capturing 4 wickets each.
