First Undergraduate Research Symposium of KDU-FMSH: VISTA 2025 Successfully Concludes

The Premier Undergraduate Research Symposium of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences andHumanities (FMSH) of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) named as VISTA 2025- Vision for Innovation in Societal & Theoretical Advancements was successfully concluded on 8th April 2025 at KDU. The theme was Enabling Digitalized Economies and Societies through Novel Sustainable Strategies. The Chief Guest Vice Chancellor of KDU Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara delivered an insightful speech. The Dean FMSH Dr. Lakshika Liyanage delivered the welcome address and the keynote speaker Professor Janaka Ekanayaka addressed the audience which complemented VISTA framework from sustainability view point. The Symposium Chairperson Dr. Dhinesha Perera proposed the Vote of Thanks marking a culmination to the inauguration ceremony.

The launch of the VISTA-2025 Proceedings by the Chief Guest was a significant segment at this prestigious academic event. The plenary session which unfolded thereafter was a fruitful one with an interesting panel discussion with four scholars representing Management, Social Sciences and Humanities. The session was chaired by Senior Professor Anoma Abhayaratne. The day ended with the technical sessions under six tracks that marked the successful conclusion of VISTA-2025 with shared academic values and a tempered alliance between the respected academia of FMSH and the student researchers.
