Rohana Wijeweera’s sister passes away

Patabendige Don Chitrani Wijeweera, the sister of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) founder Rohana Wijeweera, passed away yesterday morning (April 26). She was 75 years old at the time of her death. Born on May 6, 1948, in Kottegoda, Matara, Chitrani Wijeweera had been residing in Tangalle in recent years.

Her remains lie at 208, Muthumala Mawatha, Pallikkudawa, Tangalle. The final rites are due to take place on April 28 afternoon, with family members and leaders of the JVP expected to be present.
