A musical evening

The High Commission of India has organized a musical evening, Jaltehainjiskeliye -Golden oldies from the Hindi Silver screen, which will be held at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, auditorium, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7,on March 28 at 6.30pm.

An evening of songs from the golden years of Hindi film music (the 50s and the 60s) will be presented by Sudhakar Rao, a former civil servant and a music lover from Bengaluru accompanied by the internationally acclaimed Sri Lankan pianist Soundarie David, renowned Indian Guitarist Pradeep Rodrigo and the outstanding Sri Lankan musician and sound engineer Neranjan de Silva. Sudhakar Rao will present best known numbers of the legendary singers Talat Mehmood and Hemant Kumar, blending with the musical magic of Soundarie, Pradeep and Neranjan. This will be yet another musical collaboration showcasing the close cultural ties between India and Sri Lanka.
