Collage collection exhibition in Kandy

9 June, 2019

The latest collection of work by artist Prasad Abu Bakr due to open in Kandy this month is now rescheduled for mid-July. The exhibition, planned in collaboration with the Alliance Francaise de Kandy and set to be included in the annual ‘French Spring Festival’ program will now open five days after the ‘Bastille Day’ celebrations in this year’s calendar.

The art depicted at this exhibition will feature work highlighting the beautiful scenery of France and Sri Lanka, emphasizing a set of photographs of France by media personality Kumar De Silva, making it a special event where a second person’s photographs are included in the main artist’s collage – which are also based on his own photographs.

Prasad Abu Bakr has exhibited his paintings widely during the past few years at annual events organized by the George Keyt Foundation and at the Galle Literary Festival. He has had six one-man exhibitions which included two photographic exhibitions in the series.
