Certified Business Accountants Toastmasters’ Club [CBA TMC] in Area 2, Division E, District 82 of CA Sri Lanka held its 6th installation ceremony recently at the auditorium of CA Sri Lanka, to welcome the new Executive Committee for 2019–20 with the theme “Drive through Success.”
Jagath Perera – President, CA Sri Lanka and a partner of KPMG was the chief guest while DTM Sarmaa Mahalingam, District Director of District 82 was the guest of honour together with several other distinguished guests.
The outgoing president TM Nirosha Dandeniya briefed on the achievements and the services rendered during the past year. All members who had achieved their educational goals were recognized and felicitated.
CBA TMC achieved the Toastmasters’ most prestigious Golden Gavel Award together with several other awards recognizing the outstanding performance and achievements during the year 2018/19.
As emphasized by the immediate past president TM Nirosha Dandeniya,“the need of being successful and maintaining the current standards to become a shining star in the Toastmasters Galaxy”, has been a reality making the dream of “Towards the Pinnacle of Success” a greater success.
The speakers highlighted the importance of communication and leadership skills in the accountancy profession. Emphasis was laid on the need to expand the service rendered by CBA Toastmasters to society through increasing the membership.
The guest of honour –DTM Sarmaa Mahalingam presented the pins to three members recognizing their personal achievement of Triple Crown award and other educational awards.
The club also felicitated the outgoing President and Executive Committee and charter members for their tireless efforts and commitments given to the club’s success and growth.
The new members were installed by TM Ranjith Premathilaka and the executive committee for 2019/20 was installed by TM Suhashini Saththyaseelanat. TM Samantha Lakmahal was installed as the 6th President. TM Hemantha Jayamanne (VP Education), TM Nayana Dharmaratne (VP Membership), TM Palanisamy Pragash (VP Public Relation), TM Sarath Kumara (Treasurer), TM Sahan Srimali (Secretary) and TM. Prabuddha (Sergeant at Arms) were the other members of the executive committee who were installed at this occasion.
In her address, the newly elected President, Samantha Lakmahal highlighted the need of uplifting the quality and being successful while maintaining the present standards to become a legacy to the toastmasters’ movement.
