The world governing body for football (FIFA) will be monitoring the election to be conducted by Football Sri Lanka (FSL) scheduled to be held on September 29, the Sunday Observer learns.
Although FIFA has lifted the ban on FSL there is no guarantee that it will not be re-imposed if a proper election is not held.
FIFA also wants FSL to implement changes to the Constitution one of which is the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer in place of the Secretary’s post.
Football Sri Lanka according to experts is in a make or break situation under the scrutiny of FIFA like never before.
