Traditional Christmas cake mixing ceremony

16 October, 2016

Executive Chef Rohan Kurera along with his team arranged the traditional Christmas Cake Mixing ritual at the Global Towers Hotel on October 5 where the Directors and Senior Management were also present.

This customary ceremony is part of an age-old Christmas tradition of cake mixing and making wishes for the New Year.

Traditional cake mixing dates back to the 17th century in Europe, which marked the arrival of the harvest season. During this time, lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and used in the making of the traditional plum cake. This was saved till the next harvest, with the hope that it would bring yet another fruitful year.
