The Chariot festival of the Sri Anjaneyar Temple in Dehiwala will take place on December 17 (Sunday).
The procession of the deities, Sri Panjamuga Anjaneyar and Sri Jeyaweera Anjeneyar, accompanied by Sri Ganapathy, in floral decorated Chariots will leave the temple at 7 a.m.
The chariots, with ropes attached to them and pulled by devotees will proceed along Sri Saranankara Road, Kalubowila Road, William Grinding Mill Junction, Galle Road, W.A.Silva Mawatha, Hampden Lane, Canal Road and Sri Bodhirukkarama Road and reach the temple.
The devotees will then receive Holy blessings, and a special Wasantha Mandapa pooja will be conducted to the respective deities.
